Creative Thursdays: Our Heritage Wall

"Every family has a story, welcome to ours."

If you come to visit my cottage, you will quickly realize that every wall is a blank canvas for creativity. My husband and I will be married 45 years this summer and putting up this wall was a true test of marital patience—mostly his. There is an “I Spy” list below the picture though I know this is small on mobile devices! Enjoy!

I Spy…

1. My father’s hammer that made a cameo appearance in BRAVE!

2. A small Victorian dress that was salvaged from an abandoned house.

3. The quilt my grandmother made.

4. My grandmother’s books from when she taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Kansas.

5. Wedding pictures from my parents and both sets of my grandparents.

6. Our wedding announcement and wedding pictures.

7. A yellow brick road and ruby slippers painted by my childhood friend who passed away last year.

8. Eyeglass memorabilia. Scott’s dad was an optometrist and Scott was working as an optician when we met.
