RockWall Cottage Chronicles #6
A newsy, sometimes amusing, usually interesting fly-on-the-RockWall view of my life as an author with updates from my Substack adventures.
The small cottage where I live and write has been affectionally named RockWall Cottage because of the rock wall that divides our side of the property from the side of the property where our friends, the owners of the cottage, live. (Learn More)
What Has Been Happening at RockWall Cottage?
We are enjoying our summer. After a hot spell (not hot compared to other places, but we melt easily here in the Pacific Northwest). Last week was busy with multiple meetings, a podcast, and a conference. And we still managed to get some projects done—Scott building a shed with more pieces than IKEA furniture, me repurposing a cabinet for some of my collections, and both of us setting up a fire pit.

And then we took time to enjoy life.

News, Highlights from Previous Weeks, What’s Coming, and Other Stuff
Welcome! If you joined me after attending the Small Church Conference last week, I am glad to have you here! You might be interested in reading the explanation of my content included in this edition of RockWall Cottage Chronicles (along with pictures of my chickens).
This Week: The content for this week will be a bit different. We are beginning the third month of Trauma in the Pews 2.0 content and the chapter that introduces the final section is going to be included in four parts—Wednesday through Saturday. There is just too much good stuff to absorb in one day! We will go back to the regular format next week.
The We Do Therapy Series: Last week I continued the We Do Therapy series with the post: When Trauma Married Trauma. How did we make it to our 45th anniversary last week? In great part because We Do Therapy. Stay tuned as we share the wisdom we have gained. (This series will be available to paid subscribers beginning in September—we have paid for a lot of therapy!)
Zoom Conversation: We had a wonderful conversation last week! Our next meeting will be on August 29th at 3:00 Pacific Time. I am grateful for the following comment from one of those who joined the conversation: (Thank you!)
“I joined this community conversation last month, and I can’t say enough about how helpful it was. The vibe was very laidback and not a bit intimidating. I felt the freedom to talk but not any pressure. I joined expecting to simply observe. However, I felt so comfortable that I ended up asking questions and even sharing some of my own story. I highly recommend taking the time or just taking the chance. You’ll be glad you did.”
