RockWall Cottage Chronicles #7
A newsy, sometimes amusing, usually interesting fly-on-the-RockWall view of my life as an author with updates from my Substack adventures.
The small cottage where I live and write has been affectionally named RockWall Cottage because of the rock wall that divides our side of the property from the side of the property where our friends, the owners of the cottage, live. (Learn More)
What Has Been Happening at RockWall Cottage?
Two words: Organizing and Olympics. That about sums it up. Albert Einstein described me best when he said, “Organized people are just too lazy to go looking for what they want.” Yep. Nothing makes me any more irritable than not being able to find what I am looking for. It's such a complete waste of time! I could be writing instead!
One of my solutions is an IKEA wall that divides my office from Scott’s office. Reorganizing only requires making a new list of the contents in the boxes. After being in the cottage for eight months, it was time to decide what we actually needed in these boxes! It has created quite a mess! The Olympics are a great way to take a break!
News, Highlights from Previous Weeks, What’s Coming, and Other Stuff
Last Week: The paid subscriber content for last week was a bit different. We began the third month of Trauma in the Pews 2.0 content and the chapter that introduced the final section was included in four parts—Wednesday through Saturday. I appreciated the comments and discussion!
The We Do Therapy Series: I have been getting great feedback on the upcoming We Do Therapy series. The introductory post reached “Top Post” status! (We Do Therapy: Our Story) Work has begun to get the content ready and Scott and I are looking forward to sharing. (This series will be available to paid subscribers beginning in September—we have paid for a lot of therapy!)
175 Posts! This post is number 175! I questioned making this commitment but have not yet had a day when it felt overwhelming. So, yes, I can do this. Any questions you might have that you would like me to address would be welcomed!
Over 300 Subscribers! I enjoy milestone moments. I am glad to have an audience for the words I would write even without one. This steady growth is encouraging. You are hailing from 39 states and 13 countries. Thank you to everyone—especially those who have chosen to support my work through paid subscriptions!
