RockWall Cottage Chronicles
A newsy, sometimes amusing, usually interesting fly-on-the-RockWall view of my life as an author with updates from my Substack adventures.
The small cottage where I live and write has been affectionally named RockWall Cottage because of the rock wall that divides our side of the property from the side of the property where our friends, the owners of the cottage, live. (Learn More)
What Has Been Happening at RockWall Cottage?
We finally got significant snow and the cottage was as magical as I thought it might be! Weber seemed to remember snow from his childhood in Colorado and begged to be outside all day long.
It is all gone now, washed away by the rain. I did enjoy it while it lasted and was very glad that we were able to get to Scott’s doctor’s appointment before it began snowing. There was as much of an update as I can offer in yesterday’s post.
My distraction has been this puzzle I received as a Christmas present. 1,000 pieces difficult—and fun. It is covered in chicken quotes. My favorite: The duck was about to cross the road, when the chicken stopped him. “Don’t do it man, you’ll never hear the end of it.”
Last, but not least. Even when sick and housebound, Scott managed to give me flowers for Valentine’s Day!
News, Highlights from Previous Weeks, What’s Coming, and Other Stuff
The grief of not being able to attend either the Attachment & Trauma Network conference in Atlanta OR my 50th reunion at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) settled in as my friends began posting “on my way” posts on Facebook. Sometimes there is really nothing to do except be sad. So I was. (Why do I still instantly feel the need to apologize for being sad? Our uncomfortableness with expressing emotions runs deep doesn’t it?)
AND I am excited to participate in the Virtual portion of the conference on Thursday and Friday. There is still time to register for the virtual conference. You can access information here. If you live in Georgia, there are scholarships available. If you live in Virginia there may be funds available for the virtual conference! If you attend virtually, send me a message through the conference platform!
Repeat of Information From Last Week
Since new subscribers continue to arrive, I am repeating this information.
If you are new here and interested in the series that I have posted in the past, you can access those in the Substack Series section.
My main objective here on my Substack is to provide hope and insights for healing from childhood adversity/trauma and religious trauma. The world feels very chaotic right now and it is overwhelming. I usually reserve any writing on more political topics for Saturday McMusings.
