As I mentioned in last week’s RockWall Cottage Cottage Chronicle, I will be taking a break this week. I suppose that is true—and not true—since helping our daughter move last week means I need a week to catch up and create new content. Stay tuned!
I also want to thank everyone who has purchased one of my books! Trauma in the Pews will soon surpass 2,000 sales if that hasn’t occurred already. It is a remarkable accomplishment! Statistics on book sales are confusing, but this is a realistic statement based on all I have read about books published by independent book publishers.
“One industry professional suggests that most indie press books sell around 1,500 copies, with 3,000 being considered good sales.” (Source)
Recently, I said to a friend that I occasionally get a glimpse of the impact this book is making. More and more often, ministry leaders are engaging with the book—some with their staff and church members. This is encouraging since it was my hope. Initial sales were predominantly by survivors—many who shared the book with ministry leaders.
Please share any glimpses you may have!
Leaving a review on Amazon would be awesome! The number of reviews does not represent the impact. It would be helpful if it did!
This book has consumed my life for over three years now and our family has climbed over many challenging hurdles during that time—including last week. One of my fellow Attachment & Trauma Network board members, when asked how she was doing, said she was “Scrappy but tired.” We all laughed and adopted it as our standard answer—complete with sticker.
Nothing could describe my current condition any better! I am going to go gather up my scrappy again. See you next week!
We just gave a copy of Trauma in the Pews to an evangelist friend who was preaching in our church last week. He started reading it as soon as we gave it to him.
I have been sharing Trauma in the Pews widely. It is so important.
