“You know what the great thing about babies is?
They are like little bundles of hope. Like the future in a basket.”
―Lish McBride—
What brings me joy? All babies, but mine in particular. These two have brought me so much joy—even now that they are adults.

And then my grandbabies, now 20 and 15.

I graduated from college with a double major in Child Development and Christian Education. My entire life has been devoted to teaching and caring for children along with training those who care for them in preschools, elementary classrooms, and church settings.

When first hearing the following quote, it rang true. Not understanding my story did not mean that my subconscious wasn’t guiding me. Fortunately, when it came to choosing a career, my childhood wounds helped me make positive choices.
If you want to find your purpose in life, find your wound.
—Rick Warren—
I filled my life with all things children. Anyone who came by my offices had no question but that my life revolved around my love for children. There are so many reasons for this that I now better understand. If you have been following my posts this week, one of those reasons likely makes complete sense. No matter the reason, my office evolved over the years to be a place that brought me great delight. I have included pictures from my faculty offices below, but first a baby’s laugh.
"When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about and that was the beginning of fairies.”
—James Matthew Barrie—
It was from this office that I accomplished all of the following while staying true to my professional focus on young children. Because it was always the children who brought me joy!
