“The perfect reminder that coffee can’t fix everything is Monday.”
Now that I am retired, Monday may be my favorite day of the week. Ah the joy of an unscheduled day! It try to keep Mondays that way. I have the utmost compassion for those who cannot yet choose the luxury of a retired person’s Monday.
Did You Know? A Case of the Mondays is an especially bad mood brought on by the onset of the workweek or the school week—which, for most of us, begins on Mondays. (Source)
That sounds about right. For most of my life, I was always trying to figure out where the weekend went and what I knew that I needed to do when I showed up for work on Monday—but now seemed to have forgotten. I always needed three cups of coffee and appreciated any moment of levity or encouragement.
During my best positive-thinking Mondays, it was the best day of the week—a new start. On more typical weeks, it was the day my exhausted survivor self had dreaded all weekend—even though I usually enjoyed my work.
So, if you need a song to put some pep in your Monday, here it is! (Hang on for the refrain!)
You are my Monday, you're the best day of the week
So underrated and a brand new start
Don't care what all the kids say
You've got the key to my heart.
Imagine Dragons, Monday*
