I'm so glad to see this—to see you processing this "not what you expected" week in a way that works so well for you. Hope. We are holding onto hope—most of all hope that Scott will feel better. But also hope that you are cared for in all the ways that are most helpful right now—that you can rest. We hope for a miracle—and for small miracles along the way.
Crying pods! What an amazing idea! As someone who spends time in the hospital on a regular basis, I have visions of how this would work and where we could put them....
Finally—your question. What is the most difficult part is one of my favorite questions to ask. It skips all the chitchat and gets right to the point. I asked the question in a palliative care and hospice training not too long ago, and it brought tears to someone's eyes. What is most difficult for those who care? Not being able to change anything—not being able to be there.
So from a distance we hope and we pray for a big miracle and small miracles—any kind of miracle will do. Our hearts are with you.
Thank you for sharing. Praying for healing and restoration for Scott.
I love the way you capture miracles of community and glimmer miracles. Praying that you are able to rest today. That you are embraced and held by God’s peace in the midst of the challenges and tears.
Oh friend, as I also have a quiet day today (for the first time in … how long?) I am catching up on Substack, and started from the most recent. Know that you are loved, as is Scott and your beautiful family. Looking forward to long back porch evenings of conversation with you both soon - that is something to hope for!
Praying for you and Scott, trusting that our loving God is able to sort through all the details we're unable to know or comprehend and inspire wisdom and insight in those caring for you both. May you see with Their eyes all the provision of love, grace and mercy flowing through you... and rest in the being by yourself that allowed you to remember you are with Jesus, Father and Grand Mother. May you be able to receive from them the miracles of nourishment and companionship which will allow the miracle of restoration that begins with being still and knowing.... 💜🙏😇
Praying today for a miracle for Scott. 🙏🙏
Praying God’s strength love and grace would surround both of you Janyne. 🙏🙏
“What is the most difficult part of what you’re going through right now?” I like that! Thanks for that idea.
This is such a good question.
