May is almost over! I have enjoyed my time away from social media and am looking forward to pursuing new avenues here on Substack. I am going to pause posts for the weekend and parts of next week as I develop future content. But first, let me share what my plans are for going forward.
Post #13 in the series, What I Wish I had Known Before Beginning Therapy is scheduled for Tuesday. There has been a great response to these posts and I plan to round them off at #20. If there is something you would like me to address, let me know!
I also will be sending out the final Trauma in the Pews 2.0 post before the content moves over to paid subscription content on June 1st. This is the list of posts so far:
Introduction: Trauma in the Pews 2.0
Section I: Recognizing the Impact of Trauma on Your Life
Chapter 1-Part One: What if your Struggles aren’t Spiritual?
Chapter 1-Part Two: Is the Impact of Childhood Adversity Causing the Struggle?
Chapter 2-Part One: Can Understanding Trauma Help You Draw You Closer to God?
Chapter 2-Part Two: What Do We Need to Understand about Trauma?
On Wednesday I will post the following introduction to Section II as an overview of the content that will begin on June 1st for paid subscribers.
Section II: Supporting Your Healing of Trauma with Spiritual Practices
I will be inviting those who subscribe to walk alongside me as I explore this topic this summer. The posts and discussion/comments will only be available to paid subscribers and I hope that I gather a small group to share and explore as much as each one finds possible during the busy summer months. Nature will be an important theme so the timing is perfect! I have many ideas but certainly no definitive answers. We will be learning and growing together.
During the summer, the paid subscription content will include the following three sections of Trauma in the Pews 2.0:
June: Section 2-Part One: What is Self-Regulation and How Can it Help You Find Inner Peace?
Personal Reflection Questions
Ideas for developing trauma-sensitive spiritual practices related to the following as discussed in Trauma in the Pews (TITP): Meditation, Prayer, Fasting & Study)
Weekly Discussion Prompt Posts
Access to a monthly Zoom conversation
July: Section 2-Part Two: What is the Pause and How Can It Help You Live a Less Stressful Life?
Personal Reflection Questions

Thank you to those who have joined me here! I officially launched in March and have posted free content every day since March 4th. I have enjoyed creating every post and am convinced that this is a platform I can continue enjoying. I wanted to be sure of that before I turned pledges into paid subscriptions!
It is of course unrealistic to continue daily posts forever so I will be rotating content days and will divide those days into paid and free content. Those who continue as free subscribers will not receive the full content of the post. While I have no desire to build a large platform here on Substack, there are costs to being an author and I am grateful for those who are able to help me in this way.
I do not want anyone to miss receiving the paid subscription content if the cost is prohibitive. Please reach out to me if this is the case!
